Good News! This morning flat on both beachs.No that's not the good news. Since the lack of wind energy from offshore has made it to Hatteras. This afternoon on north beach waist with chest high sets and clean. South beach knee high and clean.Look for the swell to continue for another day or two untill the wind starts to pick up once again mid week.

Frisco was blown out and should remain blown out for at least two days as the relentless south west wind has kicked in full force.A large system of weather has moved off the coast . Waist high on north beach this morning. A little choppy with the south wind blowing about 10-12 mph.By afternoon the surf was pretty much blown out everywhere with the south wind picking up to 15-25 and gusty.We will most likely get the same conditions tomorrow.

Happy 4th everyone!!North beach this morning was waist high and fairly clean, light wind. Ths afternoon still waist high but inconsistant with the south south east wind,10-15 mph.South baech this afternoon, at low tide , knee to thigh high and a little choppy but rideable.Not much change for tomorrow.

Light north east wind today put a bump on the knee to waist high surf on the north beach.Clean knee high sliders on south beach around low tide.Light south east wind for tomoorrow . Look for about the same size in the surf as we had today.

Offshore winds today made for semi glassy knee to waist high , with larger sets ,for most of the day along the north beach.South beach was blown out again. That should change late tomorrow as a the wind will switch to the north east and that will be offshore on south beach. Look for some left over wind swell there.North beach will take the onshore wind for a few days.

North beach this morning was knee to waist high on the larger sets. Light south west wind made for a fun morning.South beach choppy with the onshore wind and would become wind blown by afternoon. Winds picked up to 15-25 mph and gusty.Look for lighter south west wind tomorrow . Surf on north beach tomorrow should be about the same as today.

Feels like Ground Hog Day, the movie!Knee high on both beaches this morning. Glassy longboard wave untill the tide got to be 3 hrs. before high and that ended that! Look to this weekend to maybe see a bump up in the surf as the high pressure goes off to Bermuda.

Well summer time surf still prevails.At half tide to low tide on north beach ankle tto knee high. At high tide , flat. South beach a little better . The light south wind is helping to push a knee high little wave.Sorry to say tomorrow looks to be more of the same.

This morning the surf on north beach was less than calf high.This afternoon, after a day of light east wind , the surf has grown to knee to maybe thigh high.South beach has been ankle to calf high all day .with light east wind tonight and tomorrow we should see similar conditons tomorrow.

Well not much to talk about in the way of surf.North beach was maybe calf high today a messy with the north east wind. South beach about the same size but clean with the offshore wind.We do have north east wind today , to to strong but maybe it will bump the surf to knee high.

Well the first full day of summer. And yes summer time conditions. Knee high on north beach and clean with offshore wind. South beach also knee high and fun after the wind switch mid day to offshore. I hate to say it , but look for more of the same tomorrow.

On both the north and south beach today we had knee high conditons. North beach has some texture on the wave with the north north east wind. Souht beach was clean and a fun longboard wave until low tide and a wind switch to the south east. Tomorrow look for west winds in the morning so north beach may be fun.

Another day of clean surf!Waist to chest high on the north beach this morning with light wind. However this afternoon the chest high has dissapeared and left clean waist high waves. Frisco has bee fun knee to waist high all day. The surf will remain waist high for tomorrow .The winds are supposed to shift the the south then south west tomorrow , 10-15 mph.

Another windy day on the north beach . Choppy and messy chest high surf not really rideable.Frisco faired better with the offshore wind.Waist high and fun around the time of low tide. The wind should be very light almost calm tomorrow morning. This will help on cleaning up the surf on north beach . However the surf will decrease in size as the day and the tide cycles click by.

Wind blown waist to chest high surf on the north beach. Not really surfable.Frisco was also affected by the wind. Knee to waist with a few bigger sets could not really break because of the hard offshore wind.Looks like the wind should lay down tomorrow and Frisco, Hatteras Inlet, may be the place to go to find rideable surf.

Windy out of the north east all day,20-25 +.This morning we saw choppy knee to waist
high on the north beach. By afternoon the surf has jumped to waist to chest. Still windy.Frisco has increased in size from knee high to waist high and ridable with the offshore wind. A little texture on the wave. Tomorrow still north east but not as strong . Check Frisco tomorrow ,as the wind swell will hopefully increase in size a bit.

Well you had to be atb the beach around low tide today. Knee to waist and clean this morning with a light side offshore wind.Frisco was almost flat, ankle high.More north east wind in store for tomorrow. This may help to bring a little wind swell .

Waist high and not very organized because of the north wind blowind 10-15 mph.But by afternoon the surf on north beach did clean up some as the wind died and went light south east the south west.Frisco, in the morning, saw a knee high fun longboard wave.There may be a little bit bigger surf tomorrow from a large low pressure off the New England coast.Not much wind in the forecast so hoefully the swell will make it to Hatteras.

Almost lake Atlantic!Small maybe knee high surf with light west wind made for some glassy longboarding.Wind shift to the northeast helped to clean up Frisco and the knee to waist high left over wind swell.Maybe a little bigger tomorrow on the north beach but the still may be a good chance of breezy north east conditions. Look for a sand bar on south beach.

Knee high surf again this morning.A bit bigger as the tide neared low.Offshore west wind made what surf was there glassy.Afternoon brought sideoffshore wind that put a surface chop on the small wave. Frisco blown out for another day. Winds will go west tomorrow morning and swich to north west the north. Frisco may be ok by the afternoon.

Surf on the north beach has dropped to waist maybe a little bigger at times. Glassy with west winds this mornining.Frisc still a bit messy with the overnight south west wind. However this afternoon the wind has gone North west to north east and this has helped Frisco to clean up some.Waist high this afternoon.Winds are going to continue to swing to the south and south west tonight.

North beach today still has some surf in the waist to chest high range.Rideable but with a little chop on the wave with the south west wind.Frisco has been blown out again with the side onshore wind of 15-25 mph.Winds are forecasted to switch light out of the north west to north tomorrow morning.this should help clean up the surf in Frisco.

Overhead washing machine today.Gale force south south east winds most of the day. This afternoon the winds have fallen off a bit and shifted to the south but this shift did not help the surf . Tonoght the magic direction, west 15-20mph. This should help to clean things up a bit.Frisco was no better, Same conditions as north beach.

Today we had waist surf. Every so offten you would see a almost chest high set. A little bummpy because of the sideshore, southerly wind. Frisc was knee high and bummpy also.Looks like a really windy day tomorrow with the approach of TS Barry.Hard south to south east wind should bild a little swell.Sunday afternoon the winds will hopefully go to the west and clean up what wind swell is left.Wax Up!!!

This morning brought clean waist high surf on the north beach.By late afternoon the wid picked up out of the south south east and really messed up the fun wave. Frisco was knee high this morning and clean. Not so this afternoon as the onshore wind kicked in. Well right on time, TS Barry will be paying us , I hope , a passing visit this week end. look for some surf Sunday or Monday depending how fast he passes and how far offshore he stays.

Today with approach of low tide the surf did bump up a bit. Waist high with bigger sets. A little bumppy with light south east wind but still surfable. Frisc was knee to thigh and also bummpy with the side on shore south east wind.Keep an eye on the distubance in the gulf as it will come out accross Florida and sneak up the coast this weekend!

A choppy knee to a little over waist high this afternoon. Side onshore north east wind keeps on blowing 10-15 mph.Frisco this afternoon a fun glassy knee high longboard wave.Winds are to shift more east then south east the next 12-24hrs. This will keep the small surf a little jumbled up for the next few days till the wind goes offshore.

This morning brought glassy knee to waist high surf on the north beach. Light west wind the gave way to a wind switch mid day to the north east and messed up the fun longboard surf .The switch helped clean up Frisco's ankle to knee high slidders.Tomorrow looks like more of the same on both beaches.

I hate to sound like a broken record but the surf is the same as the last few days. Knee to waist, breaking on the lower tide.Frisco knee high and a little choppy with the south wind.Wind shift to the north east tomorrow may help a little to increase the surf.

Today the surf has bumped up to chest high and maybe a little bigger at times. Bad news is the wind is still east north east 10-20 mph and making the surf really messy.Frisco is no better beacuse of the wind direction being side shore.Looks like a wind shift to the south east and then south west for the weekend. This should greatly improve what swell is left over.

Sunrise brought knee to maybe waist high sets on the north beach.Light offshore winds made for clean conditions.Bummpy ankle to knee high in Frisco.A change arourd for the afternoon. Breezy east north east wind chopped up the small surf in Buxton.Frisco cleaned up slightly but still small. Good news with the forecast of east north east wind for at least 24 hrs. this will build a little wind wave.

Earyl this morning surf on the north beach was head to overhead high and really sloppy from the over night north north east wind. As the day went on around the wind shifted to side offshore and eventualy the surf cleaned up nicely. Still chest to head high with plus sets.Forecast is for the wind to stay offshore tonight and tomorrow.Surf in Frisco is in the knee to waist high and a little bumpy with the west to north west wind.

Surf today has jumped from knee high to chest to some head high sets on the north beach today due to the strong NNE wind. Surf on the south beach remaind in the knee to waist high range with gusty offshor wind. There is hope for fun surf. The wind will shift to the south west tomorrow night and this will help clean up the surf on the north beach.

Large easterly swell in the 10 to 18 foot range still ponding the beaches.Along with the high winds surfing right now is not an option on either the north beach or the south beaches.The winds will back off some but it will a few days for the surf to become rideable.

Small to Flat surf again today. It is maybe knee high on the north beach and knee to waist high on the south beach but extremely choppy with the SW wind 20-25 mph. A weak front is expected to move through tonight bringing NE winds 15-20 which should bring a little wind chop to the north beach but don't expect too much.

Today the surf was pretty dismal maybe knee high. With the SW wind picking up we might see a little wind swell increasing for wednesday but don't expect too much. The south beach will be a bit bigger but extremely choppy with the continuing SW wind through tomorrow. The approaching front is expected to move through late wednesday night with NE expected Thursday. Early Thursday mourning could be fun on the south beach if the NE wind doesn't switch to early wednesday night.
